The third event was the Masquerade Ball, with a motto of " a night of mystery." Born from a deep seated desire to bring to life the dream of being at ball where everyone was in a masks and fancy clothes we set out to achieve a night of elegance and mystery. Jericho_ had taken a hiatus as school cranked up in intensity and we used the time away to plan on a much bigger scale and budget. Previously we had been hosting events in the basement of a mansion, and while it suited our needs, was limited in capacity and we wanted to have more space for more people. We also desired a grander and more timeless feel for the ball and thus we rented out Kiesel Park Pavilion. We kicked off our new social media campaign with a clear and easy to understand theme and created a strategy to have higher engagement rates as well as an incentive to buy tickets early to increase the number of attendees. I worked closely with a friend in interior design the posts in eye catching and alluring style and we promised to provide masquerade masks to whoever RSVP'd by a certain date. The results were very encouraging as we saw a dramatic increase in engagement with posts and tickets bought. The admission was raised to $5 which was risky because we were aware that the price was a main reason for lower attendance at the Space Jam, but we need the funding to accomplish our vision. The ball was very mentally engaging to plan out because we were working with a new venue with a very different style of space. For the pavilion we settled upon having beige/golden curtains drape in bunches and swags from the rafters over "windows" and entrances. Warm bulb lighting lined the tops of the rafters above the curtains and a plethora of ferns were hung and placed throughout the venue. Four upright speakers were set up in stero and were once again ran into my laptop controlled through my phone. Due to the elegance of the setting we felt it necessary to up the quality of food and its presentation. The food was laid out on a table with a red velvet tablecoth and placed on silver trays and platters, silver candleholders and greenery were also used in decorations. Free waters were stored in silver buckets with ice and this time soda's were added. The pavilion was used as the backdrop for the photo wall and lit brightly and manned by a designated cameraman for the evening to ensure that photos made easy for attendees. The event was a smashing success, everyone showed out dressed to the nine's and the majority wore masquerade masks. The dance floor was electric and filled by a number of large personalities who carried the energy on their shoulders. The turn out exceeded that of our first event and saw our online following grow in even greater numbers.
